Here’s how to clean your gold and diamond fine jewelry from the comfort of your home.
*Please note the following tutorial is specifically for fine jewelry made of gold and diamonds.
Please do not use this method for any jewelry containing soft or porous stones such as pearls, opals, etc.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- A soft brush
- Dish Soap
- Hot water
- Small bowl
STEP # 1 – Combine hot water and some dish soap in your bowl. Place your pieces in the bowl, and let them soak for about 5-10 minutes to help loosen any debris.
Set a timer so you don’t forget!
STEP # 2 – Using your brush, gently scrub pieces. Pay attention to all the small crevices where gunk can build up. If you find there is significant, stubborn buildup, you may need to re-soak.
STEP # 3 – Rinse. Try not to do this over a sink or be sure to block your drain with something so no jewels accidentally make their way down your pipes!
STEP # 4 – You can leave your pieces out on a towel to air dry, or use a soft cloth to wipe them dry. Don’t use anything rough or abrasive.
